DASA UG 2025: Direct Admission for NRI Students

Direct Admission to NITs & IIITs for NRIs: DASA UG 2025 Brochure Released

For many NRI students, getting into India’s top engineering colleges is a dream. The Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme makes that dream possible, offering NRIs, OCIs, and foreign nationals a straightforward route to study in prestigious institutes like NITs, IIITs, and SPAs.

With the DASA UG 2025 brochure now officially released, it’s time for students and parents in the UAE to understand the eligibility, process, and key deadlines.  If you’re planning to pursue engineering in India, this is your go-to guide for understanding how DASA can simplify your journey.

What is the DASA Scheme?

The DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) scheme was created by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to help Foreign Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) secure admission to India’s premier engineering institutions.

While IITs are not included under DASA, the participating institutes, such as NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other CFTIs, are among the most prestigious in the country.

From 2021 onwards, the JEE Main rank became a mandatory requirement for admission through DASA. This change ensures that all applicants are evaluated on a uniform national benchmark, giving them an equal opportunity to compete for top seats.
