We agree that the entrance exams like IIT JEE Mains are a hard nut to crack at times, so apart from preparing extensively for the entrance exams, the candidates should make sure that they are focused on avoiding small and big mistakes to crack your desired scores and enter the college of your dreams.

Not adhering to the IIT JEE syllabus– While preparing for the exams some of the students tend to overly prepare for the exam, thereby covering topics that are not covered under the syllabus. Avoid this mistake in the first place, the authorities who are conducting the IIT JEE exams don’t intend to test your extensive knowledge on various topics. Tip no one- never waste time and energy on unnecessary topics, give complete focus on the IIT-JEE syllabus and pattern.

Not adhering to a particular timetable– The keyword that defines the success of the students who are preparing for the competitive exams is ‘time management. If you are a student who is dreaming of cracking the top score in the IIT-JEE exam, then you should have a strict timetable that is planned according to the most productive time. Give equal importance to all the three subjects and give equal time for them. Stick on to it- success is yours.

Avoiding a subject- Give equal weightage to all three subjects, agree that you are well-versed with all the fundamental concepts about a particular subject, but not giving enough preference can lead you to score less than the desired score.

Giving less preference to NCERT Books– NCERT books are the best and the most important guide for any competitive exam preparation especially for IIT-JEE aspirants. They help you to grasp the basic concepts and provide deep knowledge about complex topics most simply and easily. So, never avoid NCERT books while preparing for the IIT-JEE exam. It can risk your desired score.

Being over/under confident- Confidence and belief in the efforts and hard work you put in while preparing for the IIT-JEE exams are very important. Some might have a thought they are thorough in a particular subject and might not give importance to that subject, never do this- prepare a detailed timetable which gives prominence and time to all the subjects equally.

Purchasing too many reference books- Many students who get carried away by the ads or by their peers might end up purchasing several reference books and end up not using any of them. Referring to different books for the same topic is time-consuming and leads to a lot of confusion. As mentioned above, always refer to NCERT books to understand the basic concepts.

Avoiding asking doubts to the experts- There is no shame in asking for help from teachers, seniors, or peers. Clearing doubts and asking somebody to explain a concept doesn’t make you appear less intelligent or underconfident. Make use of all the available resources to crack the desired scores.

Assessing the progress in terms of hours- Never assess your progress in terms of hours you have put in while preparing for the exam. Measure it based on the number of MCQs you were able to attempt or solve during the preparation time. Make a note of the number and kind of questions that were difficult for you to crack also by the number of topics you were able to cover during the dedicated time.

Avoiding taking help from the experts- Not all the aspirants are self-motivated, some of you might need guidance and extra coaching to crack the IIT-JEE exams. That’s where coaching institutions like Unique World Education where extensive coaching is conducted for students where the weak ones get individual attention. Unique World Education offers online classes where students can be in their comfort space and attend classes.

Treating oneself harshly-  As the competition for IIT-JEE exams is increasing every year, students will have to undergo a huge amount of mental and emotional pressure. It is important to treat yourself well and get enough sleep and relaxation. Try simple relaxation methods like Yoga and take frequent breaks during the exam preparations.
