All you need to know about JEE Main 2022 Exam

National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the JEE Main 2022 exam date soon at jeemain.nta.nic.in. According to reports, registrations for JEE Main 2022 are likely to begin in January. The exam dates are likely to fall on February, March, April and May- 2022. NTA, along with the IIT JEE 2022 exam dates, the exam authority will also be releasing the NTA JEE Main registration dates. 

According to the JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, the candidates appeared for two papers. Paper 1 is compulsory for everyone and Paper -II is mandatory for those candidates who are aspiring to earn a B. Arch Degree. As per the exam pattern of JEE Main 2022, both papers will be held online except for the Drawing test for B.Arch Degree. 

Paper I

Paper I for B.E/B.Tech- the exam duration is 3 hours and has three sections- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and each subject has 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 10 Numerical Value Questions and out of 10, only 5 questions are compulsory to attempt. The total would be 75 Questions and the total marks sum up to 300 (100 marks for each section) The language of examinations is in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Telugu, Punjabi, Tamil, and Urdu. Coming to the mark patterns- for the MCQs- for each correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one mark. There will be no negative marking for questions with numerical value answers, for each correct answer candidates will be given four marks. 

Paper-II

For those candidates aspiring to join for B.Arch and B.Plan courses Paper, II is mandatory and both the papers will be held online except for the B.Arch’s Drawing section. Paper-II A for B.Arch has three sections – Part 1 – Mathematics, Part 2 – An aptitude test, and Part 3 – Drawing test. Paper-II B for B Plan Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning test which are Multiple Choice Questions. 

The total number of questions for B.Arch sums up to 82 Questions and B.Plan has 105 Questions. The total marks are 400, for Multiple choice questions -four marks will be awarded to candidates for each correct answer and one negative marking for each wrong answer. For the Drawing test, two questions of 100 marks are evaluated. 

Guidelines for the exam day 

Laying out a few points to remember before entering the exam hall

1. It is mandatory to carry the admit cards, along with a recent passport size photograph and a valid photo ID proof. 

PS:

Candidates without the admit card won’t be allowed inside the examination hall

2. Those candidates appearing for Paper II of JEE Mains should carry their own geometry set, pencils, erasers, and crayons.

3. The entrance to the examination hall will be allowed 1 hour to 30 minutes before the examination.

4. Electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the examination hall. Items like books, log tables, notebooks, and calculators are also barred. 

5. There is a provision that allows diabetic students to carry food items like sugar tablets, fruits and transparent water bottles.

 PS: Packaged food items like chocolates and sandwiches are not allowed. 

6. Candidates are provided rough sheets for calculations. The student before exiting the examination hall must return the sheets to the invigilator
